Stevenson secures place on fall ballot

The committee to elect Doug Stevenson, candidate for state representative from the Fourteenth Middlesex District, announced that the Massachusetts Secretary of State has certified his nomination signatures and that Stevenson's name will appear on the November ballot.

Stevenson's 335 certified signatures exceeded the required 150. The papers were filed May 14. Stevenson and a raft of volunteers collected the signatures from across the fourteenth district during the late winter and early spring.

"I'm pleased to have exceeded our certified signature requirement," said Stevenson. "Equally as important was the range of support I received from across the district. Since last fall, I've been talking with potential constituents in Acton, Chelmsford, Concord and Carlisle and they are responding to our reform platform. I want to bring change and reflect the opinions and concerns of the people in the district, not the same old Beacon Hill mentality we currently get."
