• The fourth annual Concord Street Block Party was held on Sunday, June 6 at Bill Cooney and Debbie Power's house on (you guessed it) Concord Street. Despite the cool and occasionally rainy weather, 20 families came to enjoy each other's company, potluck dishes, Em Durlacher's now-famous balloon animals, an inflatable bounce castle and a scary swing from a tall tree. Guests wore name tags with photos of their houses. It was another successful event organized by the Concord Street Party Committee.

• Concord-Carlisle Community Chest held its second annual Triathlon fundraiser on Sunday, June 6. There were over 20 teams including an all-Carlisle team, The Mosquitos, and Team Stevenson, headed by Selectman Doug Stevenson. The winning team, The Mosquitos, was comprised of Carlisle residents, Eric Brandhorst and Louis Salemy (bikers), John Forelli and Jeff Blue (runners), and paddlers Vaughn Harring and Don Ryder. The team completed the 12-mile bike, 3-mile run and 2-mile paddle in 1 hour and 6 minutes. Team Stevenson came in fourth. Proceeds from the event benefit the many local organizations supported by the Concord Carlisle Community Chest.
