Teachers at Concord-Carlisle High School are turning up the heat on contract negotiations — by boycotting Monday night's student award ceremony, picketing, and in some cases telling students that college recommendations will be delayed. The last teacher's contract expired on June 30, 2003, but a clause stipulated that it will stay in effect until a new ...more

Have you noticed that Carlisle's "This Old House," bisected and levitated, has looked lonesome and unattended? No TV cameras, no rumbling machines, no cars blocking the roads, no construction. Last week Carlisle Building Inspector Bob Koning shut down all work as the project does not have a building permit, although an excavators permit had been ...more

Two overrides, a capital exclusion, and a debt exclusion will be on the ballot in Town Elections Tuesday May 25. If all pass as easily as they did at Town Meeting May 3, weeks of planning by town committees to provide a level of funding for the high school compatible with Concord's, while assuring needed town operating funds and capital outlays, may be vindicated. ...more
