Shorts from the Planning Board, May 10

Removal of trees at 102 Lowell Street, a scenic road. At the request of property owner Leslie Cahill, the Planning Board held a hearing to review the requested removal of four trees within the right of way adjacent to 102 Lowell Street. Also present at the hearing was Carlisle Tree Warden Gary Davis. Cahill plans to remove the trees to create a better field of vision from the driveway for cars pulling into traffic on the roadway. Additionally, she will add new evergreen trees to the area and rebuild the stone wall to make it more consistent with the neighboring property's wall. The board consented to the removal of the trees and rebuilding of the stone wall, on the condition that the wall be rebuilt in a traditional drywall technique and without the use of mortar.

Rules and regulations for scenic roads. Following the approval of the proposed amendments to the Scenic Roads bylaw at Town Meeting on May 3, the board stated it would hold a public meeting on May 24 at 8:45 p.m. to finalize these proposed rules and regulations governing the scenic roads.

Parcel A Task Force rep. Board member Phyllis Zinicola was appointed as the Planning Board representative to the eight-member Parcel A Planning Task Force.
