Whew! DEP grants permit for wastewater treatment facility
Carlisle School Building Committee chair Paul Morrison told the Carlisle School Committee on May 3 that a permit for groundwater discharge has been granted by the state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the wastewater treatment facility for the Carlisle School. "I'm delighted," said Morrison.
Last month the DEP had returned the permit application with several technical background questions. The responses were sent to the agency within a week, but technically the DEP had another 180 days to respond. A major delay could endanger the 60% reimbursement from the state.
Morrison thanked School Business Manager Steve Moore and School Secretary Peg Lynch for their help "to get the job done."
