Wave of mailbox vandalism

Last week Carlisle sustained 14 mailbox bashings and one rock thrown through a car window. Some of the damage was noticed by police on night patrol and some reported by residents the morning after.

Police Chief David Galvin said in a telephone interview that no additional patrols have been put on because of the vandalism. However, police would welcome calls from residents who hear any unusual loud noises, so they could follow up immediately.

If you hear a noise that sounds like this kind of vandalism, call the Police Department at 1-978-369-1155.
