Mite 2 Team at Holiday Classic

The Concord-Carlisle Mite 2 Team competed in the 20th annual Belmont Mite Holiday Classic. The team opened up the tournament on December 26 in Belmont and played a tough Winchester team. Ryan Jones made spectacular rushes from defense to keep Concord-Carlisle in the game. Duncan Norton had tremendous offensive play, while his steady defense of Ben Crosby and Vincent Diblasio kept Winchester off the scoreboard. Kevin Jin had some great shots on net, but the Winchester goalie was rock solid. Winchester scored the lone goal in the final minutes of play winning 1-0. The team faced a familiar foe on December 27, Belmont. CC scored two goals early on, both by Matt Jacobs. Isabelle Williams and Matthew Boudreau played great defense. CC dominated throughout the game.

Anthony Giordano led the offensive charge with great fore-checking. Belmont closed the gap and tied CC on two breakaways. Sunday, the CC Mite team faced Wellesley. CC dominated play throughout the game. Wellesley got an early lead with a quick shot on net. Cam Hill put CC on the scoreboard early on with some great moves followed by a shot in the upper corner of the Belmont net. A close game, CC kept digging and Sarah Milofsky tallied the second with a shot inside the left post. Alexander Hreib continued to put pressure on the Wellesley team. Ranger Begeulin had some terrific shots on the Wellesley goal. CC got caught in their defensive zone in the final minute and Wellesley tied the game with 30 seconds. Wellesley went on to the finals and was defeated by Winchester.
