Yes, I have to admit I am partial to most things Russian. Each of my sons took four years of Russian at Concord-Carlisle High School in the '80s. They continued to study Russian in college and beyond. Carlisle Woods, the proposed 40B development before the Board of Appeals perhaps should be named Billerica Woods. Curves, a nationally franchised women's fitness center, may be coming to Carlisle. On April 1 the Board of Appeals voted to give Carlisle resident Gail MacLeod a one-year special permit to operate a small fitness center at 1 River Road. MacLeod hopes to open her business after receiving approval of the various town boards. ...more

Register to vote

The last day to register to vote in the Annual Town Meeting and Town Election is Monday, April 12 and the Town Clerk's office will be open from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. to provide residents with extended hours for registration.

The Annual Town Meeting will be held Monday, May 3, at 7 p.m. in the Corey Auditorium of the Carlisle Public School, 150 Church Street.

The Town Election will be held Tuesday, May 25, in the Clark Room of the Town Hall, 66 Westford Street. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Call the Town Clerk's office at 1-978-369-6155 with any questions. The office is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Special Town Caucus

A Special Town Caucus will be convened on Monday, April 12 at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall to nominate candidates to fill the seat of the late Selectman Vivien Chaput.
