Selectmen call new caucus to fill board vacancy
It may be impossible to fill the shoes left by the late Carlisle Selectman Vivian Chaput, but the board has begun the process to allow the election of a replacement.
At their meeting on March 16, the Board of Selectmen voted to schedule a special Town Caucus to hear nominations to serve the remainder of Chaput's term, which was to expire in June, 2005. The caucus will be held on Monday, April 26 at 7 p.m. in the Clark Room in Town Hall.
Annual Town Election will be delayed in order to add a ballot question for this positon. The election has been moved from May 11 to the new date of Tuesday, May 25, also in the Clark Room.
The Annual Town Meeting (not this coming Tuesday's Special Town meeting) will be postponed until Monday, May 10, pending verification that the Carlisle School's Corey Auditorium is available.
