Carlisle's first CPA project?
The non-profit Carlisle Conservation Foundation (CCF) has announced that it has secured an option to purchase 45 acres of the Benfield property, located off South Street. According to CCF member Greg Peterson, the foundation will offer the property to the town for purchase, with a recommendation that CPA funds be used to cover all costs. CCF further recommends that 24 acres, mostly wetland, be reserved for conservation, while 21 acres of upland be studied for future active recreation, and affordable housing.
The proposal will be discussed at the Board of Selectmen's meeting on Tuesday, January 13, and at the CPA committee's meeting on Wednesday, January 14. The Mosquito will provide more details next week.
