Girls varsity volleyball has a season of rebuilding

The varsity volleyball team had a rebuilding season, following their season last year, losing six seniors. Their Dual County League record was 6-6, and their non-league record 0-7. This season's team was very young, having only two seniors, and lots of juniors and sophomores. This year's team included four Carlisle newcomers, juniors Nicole Koehlert and Allie Robbins, and sophomores Marie Benkley and Heather Rizzo. Koehlert was on the volleyball team for her first time, but was already experienced in volleyball, and played as one of the outside hitters. Robbins was also on varsity for the first time, and got into the rotation, often playing half of a game as middle hitter. Coach Jeff Fuller says that Robbins has improved a lot this season, especially being so new to the sport. Benkley played last year on the JV team, and was a very versatile player, able to play any position, and "will next year be able to specialize in one position," says Coach Fuller. Rizzo played center as well as middle and outside hitter in games and, like Benkley, had tried many different positions during the season.
