Cross-country season a huge success
The Carlisle Cross-Country program was a huge success this year attracting 46 runners representing grades five through eight. Girls and boys were equally represented. There was a strong turnout from the younger grades with 23 fifth graders, 10 sixth graders, 2 seventh graders and 11 runners from the eighth grade class.
The veteran runners showed great leadership as they led the team through practice drills and cheered the younger runners on during meets. Many coaches and parents from participating schools commented on the teamwork and sportsmanship demonstrated by the Carlisle runners.
Through hard work and perseverance, the girls' team developed strength and speed as the season progressed. Every runner on the team achieved a personal best course time by the end of the season.
In addition, the boys' team ended their season winning five out of seven of their meets and taking second place among seven schools at the Carlisle Invitational. We are very proud of all of our runners and look forward to building upon the success of the program next year.
