Binkley chosen Superintendent of Peabody, Mass. Schools
Concord-Carlisle Assistant Superintendent Dr. Nadine Binkley has been chosen as the new superintendent of the Peabody Schools. According to The Salem News, the Peabody School Committee voted 6-1 on November 3 to offer Binkley the position. The dissenting board member, while concerned about Binkley's lack of experience in leading a large school district of 6,700 students, moved to make the vote unanimous.
Binkley was hired as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for the Concord Public Schools and the Concord-Carlisle Regional School District on August 20, 2001. She is in the third year of a three-year contract at Concord-Carlisle, which includes a 60-day notification clause. It is expected she will transition to her new position in January 2004.
