Danielle Driscoll weds M. Mateo Millett
Danielle Marie Driscoll, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Neil W. Driscoll of Carlisle and Chatham, Massachusetts, and M. Mateo Millett, son of Ms. Elizabeth Slate Millett of New Lebanon, New York, were married on June 28 at Our Lady of the Snows in Waitsfield, Vermont. Friends and family joined the newlyweds for a reception at the Inn at the Round Barn. Danielle and Mateo honeymooned in Tuscany, Italy.
The couple currently resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Danielle is beginning her second year as a Spanish teacher at Framingham High School, and Mateo is an equity analyst at Avian Research, a boutique technology research firm based in Boston.
Engagement Phil Doreau to wed Heidi Ray
Heidi Ann Ray of Waltham and Philip John Bernard Doreau of Carlisle have announced their engagement. The couple will marry at Grace Chapel in Lexington in August 2004.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Donald and Roberta Ray of Burlington. Heidi is a 1998 graduate of Burlington High School and received her bachelor of arts degree from Amherst College in 2002. She is currently employed as a research assistant for the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Program at McLean Hospital.
The future groom is the son of Michel and Kathleen Doreau of Acton Street. Phil graduated from Lexington Christian Academy in 1998 and earned a B.S. in computer science at Eastern Nazarene College in 2002. He is currently employed as IT Help Desk for the U.S. Federal Courthouse in Boston.
• Stephen Yu of Rutland Street, son of Boston Teachers Union (BTU) member Dora Yu, a teacher at Charlestown High School, Charlestown, receives a $1,000 scholarship from the BTU. Each year the BTU awards 16 scholarships to children of BTU members. Stephen is a freshman at Yale University. He is shown above with his parents, Dora and Joseph Yu.
• Patricia (Rounds) and Robert Irwin of Concord Street recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with family and friends. The couple dated in high school and were married in Concord at Our Lady's Catholic Church on September 22, 1978. They now reside in Carlisle with two daughters Kimberley and Jessica.
• Michael Meldonian of Virginia Farme Lane, a 2003 graduate of Concord-Carlisle High School and a Denison University first-year student, is among those named as winners of the Heritage Scholarship.
Among Denison's most prestigious awards, the Heritage Scholarship is a half-tuition award and is renewable for four years if the student achieves and maintains a stipulated grade-point average. Denison University is located in Granville, Ohio.
• Marine Corps Cpl. Christian D. Ackermann of Hartwell Road recently was promoted to his current rank while serving with Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 24, Marine Air Group 24, Marine Corps Base, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.
Ackermann was promoted based on sustained superior job performance and proficiency in his designated specialty. He joined the Marine Corps in June 2001.
