Lemon Tree Café
Earlier this summer, my friend Pamela and I decided to fit lunch into our busy day of many errands and dashing around. We were in Arlington and found our Tea Tray in the Sky had closed and so had to go to plan B, which was to try the new restaurant in Bedford the Lemon Tree Café. What a good choice! Even though they had just opened, the service was great, the décor pleasant and food quite good.
Although they have a large sushi bar menu, we opted for the Thai luncheon menu. It was difficult deciding just what to order with the many interesting choices. Pamela opted for the Mango Curry, which was a combination of shrimp, chicken, onions, tomatoes, yellow squash, red pepper, baby corn and mushrooms in a house yellow curry sauce at $8.50. I had the Chieng Mai Noodle, which was a dish of boiled fine egg noodles with chicken, red onion and broccoli in a Thai curry sauce at $7.50. Each of us ordered a glass of house special wine, Thai Lotus, at $4.50. It was dry, soft and fruity, according to the menu, and it was a definite compliment to the Thai dishes.
Later I returned to the Lemon Tree in the midst of a later summer shopping spree. I then had Malay Noodle · rice noodles, beef, red onion and bean sprouts in a house curry sauce. I was delighted with this choice too.
Lemon Tree Café is open weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Friday, Saturday and Sunday until 10 p.m. I think this is a very good addition to the Bedford area and would highly recommend it.
