Roy H. Johnson Sr.
Head tool and die maker for Raytheon

Roy H. Johnson of Mashpee died at Harborside Healthcare Center in Mashpee on Saturday, November 9. He was the husband of Inga Elizabeth (Ohs) Johnson for 61 years. Mr. Johnson was born in Brockton, raised and educated there. He was a graduate of Brockton High and Wentworth Institute in Boston. He was a star baseball and hockey player at both schools and went on to play for semi-professional teams in both sports.

Mr. Johnson had retired as head tool and die maker at the Raytheon Co. in Lowell after 35 years. He had been a resident of Carlisle and Westford and lived in Mashpee for the past 15 years. He loved shellfishing, working in his garden and spending time with his family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Roy Johnson, Jr. of Ipswich, New Hampshire, and Mark Johnson of Mashpee; two daughters, Priscilla Wheeler of Hollis, New Hampshire, and Linda Berg of Ashby, Massachusetts; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services were private. Arrangements were made by John-Lawrence Funeral Home in Marston Mills, Massachusetts.

Nicholas Rubenstein and Zachary Rubenstein, both of Nickles Lane, will be performing with the Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra's Sinfonietta and Camerata Orchestras on January 18 at Sanders Theatre in Cambridge.

Mosquito staff writers Priscilla Stevens and Cynthia Sorn will be singing with the Concord Madrigals on Sunday, December 22 at 4 p.m. at the West Concord Union Church, 1317 Main Street, West Concord.
