Boys soccer

Concord-Carlisle High School's boys soccer team made their twentieth straight trip to the state tournament under new head coach Ray Pavlik. Pavlik was very pleased with his first season and believes that the kids worked hard to achieve a 7-4-7 regular season record. The team finished third in the Dual County League, behind Lincoln-Sudbury and Wayland. Lincoln-Sudbury went on to win the state championship. The Patriots lost in the first round of the state tournament to Wilmington, who finished their playoff bid in the North Semi-Finals.

The team had trouble scoring goals but the defense was very solid, anchored by Carlisle seniors Mike Meldonian, Justin Hendrickson and goalkeeper Joe Martini. This trio allowed very few points against this season with outstanding play by Martini. The team's seven ties mark their efforts on defense. Meldonian was a co-captain with Concord's Andrew Herchek and provided leadership among a young team. The team is again hopeful for next year but there were no Carlisle underclassman this year.
