No more than four horses will be allowed on the Campagna property at 964 Bedford Road. That was the compromise reached on Thursday night, October 3, at the board of appeals hearing on the request of Joseph Campagna for a special permit to board six horses at his newly constructed barn. ...more

Superintendent Davida Fox-Melanson and others in the school administrative team are interviewing candidates for the school business manager position vacated by Eileen Riley, who left Carlisle last Friday. Fox-Melanson said she hopes the school finds someone soon; however they haven't received many resumes because people who might apply for the position already have jobs this school year. Once the school has found a qualified candidate they will make a recommendation to the Carlisle School Committee. ...more

It's only early October, but already the Carlisle Finance Committee (FinCom) is preparing for another potentially tumultuous spring budget season. At its October 2 meeting, the FinCom reviewed reactions to its preliminary budget presentations and looked for ways to improve on the budget process of last spring which required an extra Town Meeting and election to resolve. ...more

Last day for voter registration is October 16

The last day to register to vote in the November 5, 2002 State Election is October 16. Registration can be done at the Town Clerk's office daily from 9 to 3 p.m. Forms are also available at the Gleason Library and at the Post Office.

As required by State Law, the Town Clerk's Office will remain open until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, for registration. If you are already registered in Carlisle, you need not register again.
