(See Photo Section)
The Carlisle Middle School Girls' Softball Team continued to show their dominance in the Nashoba Valley League. The team went 10-0, for yet another undefeated season. The girls worked hard all season and continued to improve their already strong fielding, batting and base-running skills.

The excellent pitching was led by Cassidy Lane, who intimidated the competition. Stephanie Trevino, Kelly Davin and Hannah Roberts also contributed substantially with their pitching strength. The catching responsibilities were split between Lisa DeBruzzi, Tess Guttadauro and Meredith Popolo. All three players proved to be very strong catchers.

The tough defensive infield was led by Allison Stephens at first base, Laura Ferraro at second, Eliza Jacobellis at short stop, and Samantha Luther at third. Also providing strong coverage in the infield were Pami Anderson, Sarah Kennedy, and Emily Goldberg.

Bottom row: (left to right) co-captains Samantha Luther and Allison Stephens, middle row, Meredith Popolo, Tess Guttadauro, Lisa DeBruzzi, Sarah Kennedy, Kelly Davin, Pami Anderson, Lauren LaLiberte, Stephanie Trebino, Eliza Jacobellis. Top row: coach Denaro, Teresa Barton , Emily Goldberg, Laura Ferraro, Hannah Roberts, Cassidy Lane, Estelle Faulkner.
The strong outfield was covered by Teresa Barton, Kelly Davin, Meredith Popolo, Hannah Roberts and Lauren LaLiberté. Our oustanding manager was Estelle Faulkner.

All of the players had a chance to play a couple of different positions, which showed the flexibility and depth of the team. We will be sorry to see our six eighth-graders graduate, but with ten returning players (9 seventh graders and one sixth grader), the team should be a top contender again next year.
