TIMELY CONTRIBUTION. Carlisle Education Foundation president Jeff Brown accepts a $100 donation from Brownie Troop 2647. The funds, earned from cookie sales, will go towards keeping the school library open. (Photo by Lisa Harris)
RAISIN' A LITTLE CANE. Anna Johnson of Westford Street holds the Boston Post Cane. The canes were distributed to the oldest citizens in towns throughout New England in 1909 by the publisher of the Boston Post, Edmund Grozier. Anna Johnson was born October 1, 1906, and is currently Carlisle's oldest resident. After being passed down from person to person, Carlisle's cane was lost for several years, resurfacing in 1998. It is now on display in the Council on Aging office in Town Hall. (Photo by Susan Evans)
