Brownie Troop 2649 took a field trip to the North Billerica branch of Enterprise Bank to finish their Cookie Try-its and Activity Pins. While there they discussed what a savings account was and how to obtain one, different dollar types and who was on them. Bank Manager Gail Lapan and Head Teller Jessica Flanders explained their roles at the bank and gave the girls a wonderful tour of the bank. Hard work paid off for Carlisle's fifth grade Destination Imagination (Dl) team. After months of hard work designing and building a solution to a technical challenge, honing their improvisational skills, and working on team-building exercises, the Carlisle fifth-grade team took third place in the regional DI tournament on March 16. The team's challenge required them to incorporate technical innovations into a "Game Piece" and an "Object Delivery Device" within an integrated theme, all without adult interference or input. ...more

Back in the dark ages, before the days of an automatic dish washer in every kitchen, doing the dishes used to be a family affair. When the meal was over, the dishes were scraped and stacked, the hot soapy water was drawn into the dish pan, and the cleanup began. One person washed the dishes. Carlisle's Pack 135 Tiger Cub Scouts recently spent an afternoon learning all about radio broadcasting at Concord-Carlisle High School's radio station WIQH, 88.3 FM. As part of their Scouting achievement in communications, the Tiger Cubs toured the WIQH studios, learned to use the station's computer-based audio editing equipment and recorded the weather forecast which aired that day. ...more

The town flag that proudly waves on the Carlisle common has been joined by many others since the events of September 11, 2001. Driving or walking through town one sees flags hanging from homes, displayed on car windows, affixed to mailboxes, decorating flower pots. ...more
