Students excel on intellectual journey in regional tournament

Carlisle Public School participated at the Destination Imagination (DI) regional trials at the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School on Saturday, March 16. The award-winning seventh-grade, fifth-grade and third-grade students got outstanding scores. The seventh and fifth grades received awards for second place among several other towns. The seventh-grade students achieved 100 percent on an instant challenge.
The Carlisle third grade Destination Imagination team of (left to right) Erik Dinardo, John Gillies, Robert Drinkwater, Curran Wilmot, David Yanofsky, Tommy Veitch and Devin Proctor pose in costume at the tournament.

Scoring of teams in the competition consisted of two components: presentation of a solution to a predefined problem and response to improvisational challenges. DI promotes effective team problem-solving and these high scores reflect solid teamwork.
Seventh grade students (left to right) Tom Phillips, Jason Drinkwater, Rushi Ganmukhi, Deirdre Offenheiser, Kathleen Walsh, Meredith Popolo and Maia Reed scored 100 percent on an instant challenge at the Destination Imagination regional tournament.
