You're invited to a Trash Party!
Like peepers and skunk cabbage, sure signs of spring in Carlisle, the annual Mosquito Trash Party is scheduled to take place the morning of Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The town-wide event, sponsored by this newspaper, is a cooperative roadside clean-up effort by Carlisle residents and Scout groups. Everyone is invited to scour the streets in their neighborhood for the past year's accumulation of cans and cups, bottles and bags, as well as the occasional stray tire and sofa cushion.
Complimentary trash bags and refreshments will be available for all who stop by the "booth" in the parking lot next to Daisy's that morning. Contact Bob Orlando at 369-1690 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know where you'll be working so we can retrieve the litter-laden bags around noontime.
Volunteers with trucks or trailers are needed as well, and students should take note that this is an opportunity to earn a few hours of community service credit.
So, RSVP, find those work gloves where who-knows-where-you-left-them last fall, and be seen at the major social event of the spring!
