Shorts from the ConsCom, Nov. 29
· NOIHart Farm Road. James and Linda White, owners of Lot 6, Hart Farm Road and engineer George Dimakarakis presented the Notice of Intent showing the conservation commission revised plans that would add a swimming pool to the grounds of a house under construction. The pool, which will have a mechanical cover to keep out curious children and animals, will be 54 feet from the wetland at its closest point. Commissioner Jon Beakley pointed out that the construction would be compliant with the commission's proposed bylaw revision and recommended that it be approved at the December 13 ConsCom continuation hearing.
· NOI-Forest Park Drive.Owner David Verrill of 3 Forest Park Drive requested permission to expand an existing home within the 100-foot buffer zone of a wetland. The family had already upgraded the septic system and well. Praising the specifications as "a job well done," Commissioner John Lee recommended approval at the December 13 meeting, pending receipt of the required state documentation.
· Wild and Scenic River Fest. Chair Tom Brownrigg asked his colleagues to give some thought to what the local commission might do to contribute to a "Wild and Scenic River Fest" planned for next May by the Sudbury, Assabet-Concord (SuAsCo) committee. This is the eight-town organization that successfully promoted federal designation of the SuAsCo system as a Wild and Scenic River, thus gaining substantial protection from future development. Any lover of our local river system is invited to offer suggestions by calling Brownrigg or the conservation administrator at 1-978-369-0336.
