"What are you most thankful for this Thanksgiving?"
The Mosquito invited students in grades K through 8 to share their thoughts on Thanksgiving 2001

I am most thankful for my family and friends because they are always there when I need them, or when I need a good laugh! I am thankful for my health, education, my wonderful teachers, my home and my Orthodox faith. I hope everyone will have a loving family to be with on Thanksgiving.

I am thankful for my home, because some people live in the streets.

I am thankful this Thanksgiving
To eat a great big turkey, but
I really wish it was
Spaghetti and meatballs!

I am most thankful this
Thanksgiving to see my
Grandparents and to eat
Their great big turkey.

I am thankful to have a loving family.
I'm glad I'm not racially persecuted.
I'm glad that I don't live in a war-torn country.
I'm thankful for friends to depend on in times of pain and every day.
I'm thankful for relatives that love me and are fun to be with.

I am thankful for my whole family
And my pets
And all animals and the trees and the wind.
I am thankful for water and food,
And much, much more because
There is much much more to the world than this.

I'm thankful for the gift of life.
I'm thankful for each season.
I'm thankful for the universe.
And devotion instead of treason.
I'm thankful for my father.
I'm thankful for my mother.
I'm thankful for my sister.
I'm thankful for my brother.
I'm thankful for the trees outside.
I'm thankful for the flowers.
I'm thankful for the warm sunshine.
And pleasant falls of showers.
I'm thankful for protection and guidance.
I'm thankful for confidence and faith.
I'm thankful for determination
Which is a little friend I have throughout the day.
I'm thankful for my teachers
Education too.
I'm thankful for food, shelter and friends,

And audiences like you.
I'm thankful for the days I have
To enjoy my wonderful life.
I'm thankful for all these very nice things,
And God with his angels and guiding light.
