'Larry Blotter and His Poetry of Fire'

With the release of the movie "Harry Potter" imminent, the Gleason Public Library will present Bob E. Thomas in "Larry Blotter and His Poetry of Fire" at 7 p.m on Wednesday, November 14 at Union Hall.

"Poetry of Fire" combines storytelling, audience participation, movement and a little magic in an engaging spoof of the Harry Potter stories. Bob. E. Thomas takes young wizard Larry Blotter in pursuit of the Sorcerer's Poem, providing an imaginative, charming and entertaining evening of fun. Sponsored by the Carlisle Cultural Council, this program is recommended for ages six to sixty.

Walk the Town Forest with trails committee

On Sunday, November 18, the trails committee will lead a walk of the Town Forest land. The public is invited to attend. We will meet at the Town Forest sign on East Street at 1 p.m. Parking is available on Old East Street. This is a great opportunity to walk the land which is the subject of an article at the Special Town Meeting on November 27. For more information, call Louise Hara at 1-978-287-4833.

Annual father/daughter square dance

The Girls in Brownie Troop 2648 would like to invite all Carlisle Girl Scouts to grab their partners and do-si-do over to the Father-Daughter square dance. This year's event will be held Sunday, November 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Scout House, 74 Walden Street in Concord. The cost is $7 per couple and tickets can be purchased at the door. CSEM concert in Carlisle November 15

The Cambridge Society for Early Music (CSEM) opens its season of "Chamber Music by Candlelight" concerts in Carlisle on Thursday, November 15 at 8 p.m. at the First Religious Society, School Street (on the Common). The concert will survey keyboard works from the 16th and 17th centuries and will feature James Nicolson on the double virginal.

Tickets for this concert are $20 each, general admission, with $15 discounted tickets available for students and senior citizens. To order single tickets or subscriptions, call the CSEM office at 1-617-489-2062. Tickets may also be purchased at the door on the night of the concert.
