H-Star backs out of waste clean-up

At its October 23 meeting the board of health discussed their concerns about the hazardous waste clean-up at 106 Concord Street. H-Star, Inc. which was supervising the clean-up now claims they no longer have the expertise to do the job. Board chairman Steve Opolski expressed his concern that this problem has been going on for two years and he "hates to see it dumped on the new owners" who will become responsible after 120 days. Since the previous owner Juergen Lemmermann could not be reached by phone, the board plans to send him a certified letter requesting resolution.
