Author Mary Leonhardt to reveal 'How to Get Your Kids to Love Reading'

Anyone who attended Mary Leonhardt's discussion of homework last year (or didn't attend and later heard how great it was) will be pleased to hear she is back. This time the subject is reading, and from her perspective as a Concord-Carlisle High School English teacher, mother, and author of several books, including Parents Who Love Reading, Kids Who Don't and 99 Ways to Get Kids to Love Reading, she will address the topic "How to Get Your Kids to Love Reading." Leonhardt's approach is practical, experienced, and incorporates compassion for the difficult job of parenting, particularly in a community where pressure is constant and high achievement expected. Carlisle parents with students of any age are invited to join the Carlisle School Association (CSA) at the school library on Thursday, October 18 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The talk is sponsored by the CSA, the parent-teacher organization of the Carlisle School, and will be prefaced by a business meeting at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Call Valerie Traynor, CSA president, at 1-978-369-3440 with any questions.
