Kathryn Donovan weds Randy Bruce
Kathryn Charlotte (Kacey) Donovan, daughter of Judith Pettit of Concord Street and the late John Selcott Donovan, and Randy William Bruce, son of Sharon Lynn Bruce of Dixon, California and the late Terry William Bruce, were married on October 7 by a long-time family friend, Ronald Hosking, at the groom's mother's home in Dixon. Deborah Donovan of Brookline, Massachusetts, was maid of honor for her sister. The groom's brother, Scott of Dixon served as best man.
The bride is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts and holds a master's degree in Animal Science from the University of California, Davis, and currently is executive assistant with the Environmental Horticulture Department at UC Davis. The groom is also employed at UC Davis.
Mr. and Mrs. Bruce will reside in their new country home in Zamora, California.
Caroline Redmond Chaffiotte
Christine Redmond Chaffiotte and Roger Chaffiotte of Ridgefield, Connecticut announce the arrival of their first child Caroline Redmond Chaffiotte, born on July 9, 2000 at Greenwich Hospital.
Caroline is the grandchild of Paula and David Redmond of Baldwin Road and Jean and Roger Chaffiotte of Alexandria, Virginia. Caroline is the first great-grandchild of Dorothy McLaughlin of Church Street.
Alexa Marie Skrivanek
Larissa Shyjan and Bob Skrivanek of Davis Road joyously announce the arrival of their millennium baby, Alexa Marie Skrivanek, born August 13, 2000 at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell.
Grandparents are Michael and Joan Shyjan of Chelmsford and Robert and Betty Jane Skrivanek of Biddeford, Maine.
Donald S. Fox A participant in the life of Carlisle
Donald S. Fox of Sunset Road died on Saturday, October 28 at the Walden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Concord. He was 77 years old.
Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on July 1, 1923, he was the son of the late Lawrence P. and Venita E. (Hentz) Fox. Mr. Fox was a graduate of Arlington High School, class of 1941, and was a registered land surveyor. He operated the firm Donald S. Fox & Associates of Carlisle.
Mr. Fox had lived in Carlisle since 1965 and was responsible for the numbering of homes in the town in the 1970s. He developed a map and the system whereby a house number is the number of feet times ten from the beginning of the street. Mr. Fox was appointed to serve as a fence viewer in Carlisle for many years.
During his youth, Mr. Fox enjoyed spending time at his family's cottage in Jefferson, Maine.
Mr. Fox is the husband of Mary (Ford) Fox and father of the late Bruce H. Fox. He is also survived by his cousins, Lt. Col. David E. Hentz (Ret.) of North Hampton, Massachusetts, Robert E. Hentz of Billerica, Leila Jenkins of Lowell, Dr. Richard L. Hentz of Chelmsford, and Ann Hentz of Billerica.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
