Process sketched out for selecting a new principal
At the October 10 Regional School Committee meeting, Superintendent Edward Mavragis recognized principal Elaine Dicicco's contribution to Concord-Carlisle High School and briefly outlined a plan for seeking a replacement.
He opened by saying, "I believe that it [the job of high school principal] is the most difficult job in a school system."
Due to the current job market and dearth of candidates available locally, a search firm will be brought in to expand the market beyond the Commonwealth. Teams will work together to develop a profile for the preferred candidate and interview committees will be set up to narrow down the selection for final interviews.
Mavragis closed by expressing his gratitude to DiCicco for giving enough lead time to do a thorough search and hire a replacement in time to work with her and ease the transistion.
