Notes from The Buzz
The following notes are taken from the Carlisle School newsletter, The Buzz.
·Important reminders to parents: Non-emergency messages cannot be delivered to students. Parents should complete and return all emergency forms to the main office. All visitors to the school must sign in at the main office and obtain a name badge.
·Remember to call the Absence Line at 369-0261, ext. 9002, if your child is going to be absent or tardy. Provide the child's name, grade and reason for absence. When the child returns to school, send a note for the school records stating the reason for absence. Tardy students must check in at the main office upon arrival. If you do not send a note, you must accompany him/her to the office at that time.
·The Boxtop Fundraiser is back. Look for the boxtop logo on General Mills products, including all Betty Crocker products, and submit the boxtops, labeled with your first and last name, teacher name and grade. Drop them off at Daisy's or in the school office. Call Kathy Hassey at 287-4284 with questions.
·Parents are needed to help out with kindergarten, first, third and fourth grade lunches and recesses. Kindergarten volunteers should call Nicole Bloomfield at 371-0235; first grade volunteers should call Mary Keeler at 287-0776; third grade volunteers should call Sue Struss at 369-4632 and fourth grade volunteers should call Marian Goodale at 369-1783.
·There is a CSA meeting scheduled for October 19 at 7 p.m. in the school library. The evening's lecture topic will be "The Cost of Education." Find out what it really costs to operate the school, educate your child and where all the money comes from. After the lecture, the CSA will also take up the issue of sponsorship of Scouting activities.
·This year, the display case outside the library will feature memorabilia from all around the USA. Items depicting history, geography and climate are welcome. Children will guess the state by filling out a form and each month the names of a boy and girl with the correct answer are drawn to win a free cookie from Daisy's Market. Call Mary Roberts at 287-5980 if you have a state collection to contribute.
