An embarrassment of riches
Concord-Carlisle Youth Soccer held its first-ever set of community-wide player-clinics and was overwhelmed by the demand. Most all showed up at the recent clinics causing clinicians and administrators to have to adapt to the unexpected numbers. Much good soccer training occurred giving attending players and coaches examples of many "high ball touch" games. The program is adapting to the high demand by breaking out subgroups and allowing for the more personal attention originally intended by the initiative.
Adjustments have already gone out to the K-2 program, switching the venue to the Alcott School on Tuesdays with kindergartners scheduled from 4 to 4:45 p.m. and first- and second-graders scheduled from 5 to 6 p.m. Older player times for next Sunday and beyond will be communicated through coaches in the next few days. All players in our communities are welcome to these clinics at no cost and further information can be received (and feedback given) through the soccer hot line at 287-0968.
