Register of Probate race

The September 19 primary race for an opportunity to unseat the appointed incumbent Republican Register of Probate, Lee Johnson of Medford, has attracted eight Democrat aspirants for the $88,000-a-year position. Campaign materials received from three of the hopefuls promise modernization, increased efficiency, and, above all, service to citizens doing business with the Middlesex Probate and Family Court. All candidates, with the exception of Robert Keough, a former Somerville alderman and present Billerica School Committee member, hail from some of the more populous of the 54 towns in the county, in a contest that usually goes to the one with the strongest local constituency.

The following ballot listing will permit the truly dedicated Democrat to do personal research.

Dean J. Bruno - 30 Franklin Ave. Medford

John R. Buonomo - 145 Central Street, Somerville (Former board of alderman president, school committee chairperson)
