Update on Gleason Library construction
As the plastic "tents" come down from the sides of the Gleason Library Building at 22 Bedford Road, the masonry work is being finished and the roofing is almost complete. Inside the building, the wallboard has started to go up and rooms have begun to take shape.
At the woodworking shop, pieces for desks are being cut and in the next couple of weeks, the stone desktop slabs will be selected. The rest of the furniture, chosen by the library building committee, is on order.
Residents are invited to stop at the temporary library at 872 Westford Street to see photographs of the work in progress.
Ellen Rauch is the director of the Gleason Public Library.
