New rooftop is on the Gleason Library expansion
Good weather so far this winter has permitted Groom Construction to make progress on the Gleason Library's renovation and addition construction. Behind the original 1895 building on Bedford Road, the new addition's rooftops are now visible. Inside the new walls, the electrician, plumber, and framers are completing rough installation, and two of the three new staircases can now be used to reach all floors. The brickwork has started behind a tent to keep it warm and dry.
And in temporary quarters at The Carlisle Institute, the library continues to purchase new books, audiobooks and videosas many as can fit on the shelves at 872 Westford Street.
Ellen Rauch is the Gleason Public Library director.
