Martha Bangs to wed Steven Haddad

Mr. and Mrs. Will J. Bangs of Bingham Road are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Martha Ellen Alice Bangs to Steven Matthew Haddad, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Haddad of Arlington.

Miss Bangs, a 1983 graduate of Concord Academy, received her BA in mathematics from Middlebury College in 1987. She is presently Director of Students at Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in Newton.

Mr. Haddad is a 1978 graduate of Arlington High School. After serving in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, he has returned to Arlington and is studying health sciences at Northeastern University.

A March wedding is planned.


Nicola Romanska weds John Barry

Nicola Romanska and John Barry Jr. were married on August 21 at St.Irene Catholic Church in Carlisle. Nicola is the daughter of George and Janice Romanski of Ember Lane. John is the son of John Barry Sr. and Ann Torto and grew up in Westwood.

Nicola graduated from Concord-Carlisle Regional High School, and Middlebury College and is currently working on a graduate degree at Northeastern University, while working as a Product Marketing Specialist at ST Microelectronics in Lexington. John attended Westwood High School and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and is currently the Vice President of Sales for Fulfillment America in Wilmington.

After a honeymoon in Venice, Rome and London, Nicola and John are living in Waltham while looking for their new home.

· Note to Ken Jung of Stearns Street. Yes, your chestnuts were delicious and this editor boiled them, chopped them, and included them in her Thanksgiving stuffing. Many thanks!

· Arley Donovan of Fiske Street, a fourth grader at the Carlisle School will perform the role of Cherub in the Ballet Theatre's, The Nutcracker, at the Emerson Majestic Theatre, December 2 through the 26th.

· Grace Dutton of South St., a long time Carlisle resident has just published her first book of poetry--Poetic Pleasures. Her book will be on sale at the Congregational Church Fair on Saturday, December 4, 10 am to 2 pm and she will be on hand to autograph copies.
