Strong season for CCHS Girls' Soccer
Under the guidance of Coach Nancy Slocum, the Concord-Carlisle Girls' Soccer Team had a highly successful season. With the help of seven seniors (Jen Coty, Kristin Ferrell, Carley Preble, Meriel Darzen, Sarah Barnard and Carlisle's Jaimie Frailey and Lauren Meldonian) and several key younger players, the team finished the regular season with a record of 12—1—5, notching victories against all but one team in the highly competitive Dual County League. Among these victories was a resounding 1—0 win over previously undefeated Acton-Boxboro, an achievement which made the team the first CCHS squad to defeat the Colonials in recent years. This strong regular season showing earned CCHS a number five seed in the state tournament, the highest bid for the Patriots in several years.
Concord-Carlisle continued its dominance in the first rounds of the tournament defeating Marblehead 4—0 and Wakefield 3—1 and advancing to the semifinals of the North Sectionals before losing to Westford. Ending the season with an impressive overall record of 14—2—5, the team looks forward to another successful season next year.
