Recreation trust elects new officers
At the annual meeting of the Carlisle Recreation Trust on October 18, there was a changing of the guard. The elected new officers include Maureen Tarca, president, Carol Peters, treasurer and Cindy Nock, clerk. Outgoing president Neil Driscoll, treasurer Margie McCormick and clerk Angela Smith were all confident that the new officers will be successful in pursuing many new ideas for recreational projects in Carlisle.
The trust is a private, nonprofit organization that was formed in the early 1980s for the purpose of raising tax-deductible donations and applying for grants to fund recreational projects in Carlisle. Most recently, the trust was used to raise funds for the Tot Lot Playground at Diment Park.
At the annual meeting, a committee was formed to develop future goals for the organization. The new officers and members of the trust are enthusiastic about the prospects for funding future recreational projects in Carlisle. Member, Joe Childs would love to see the town have a public pool. Anyone with ideas for the trust should write to: The Carlisle Recreation Trust, Inc., P.0. Box 261, Carlisle.
