High School enrollment way beyond projection
Updated enrollment figures for Concord-Carlisle High School show a total of 1,016 students, 78 more than last year and 28 more than projected in the school budget. Regional school committee member Cindy Nock said that some students moved into the area unexpectedly. Approximately one-quarter of CCHS students are from Carlisle and about ten percent are students from the Boston area who attend the school as part of the Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunities (METCO) program.
The freshman class is the largest class with 295 students, followed by sophomores with 271, juniors with 232 and seniors with 218 students. CCHS enrollments are projected to grow in the next decade to a peak of 1,288 students enrolled in 2007.
