Mosquito trash pickers hit the roads tomorrow
The Mosquito Trash Party pickers are raring to go Saturday morning between 9 a.m. and 12 noon. Everyone is hoping Mother Nature will do her part to make this a great time to gather with friends and neighbors and help to restore the Carlisle roadsides to their natural beauty.
Beginning at 8:30 a.m tomorrow, empty garbage bags may be picked up in the town center parking area opposite the police station. Grab a drink and something to nibble as wellthe refreshments are cheerfully supplied by Daisy's Market, Dunkin' Donuts and Welch's.
The NorthEast Bicycle Club will not be participating this year, but the scout troops and dens have signed up for their traditional spots. Our sponsors are cheerfully forthcoming with their donations, and we've made final arrangements with truckers and trash haulers. The roads into town will be marked to alert drivers.
There's still time to call Bob Orlando at 369-1690 to reserve a trashy area. When you call, we'll make a note to send a truck around to pick up the bulging trash bags and haul them to the transfer station. Last minute pickers can seek an assignment from the bag and refreshment stand in the center of town or just work around your own street. We need all the help we can get.
