Selectmen struggle to finish Warrant
The selectmen have been burning the midnight oil for the past two weeks trying to finalize the Warrant for the May Town Meeting. The board has had difficulty completing the articles with financial implications because the selectmen and finance committee have not yet agreed on the amount of a proposed tax override.
The selectmen have agreed that there will be presented to the town a three-tiered override choice on the ballot. The first tier will allow the town to deliver the same level of services as this year; the second tier will allow the town to deliver enhanced services; and the third tier will allow the town to deliver new services and cover unmet needs. The final decision on the dollar amount of each tier will be made at the selectmen's meeting on March 30.
