Personnel changes at Carlisle School
Superintendent Davida Fox-Melanson recommended Dr. Aisling Gaughan for appointment as school physician to replace Dr. Ron Schneebaum, who has resigned. Dr. Gaughan of Emerson Pediatrics of Concord is a board-certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She was also recommended by the school nurse Kathy Horan.
After a year of maternity leave, followed by a year of child-care leave, former third-grade teacher Diane Delaney has resigned from teaching in Carlisle. In her resignation letter she cited the long distance from her home and the difficulties of day care, in part, for her decision. She said that during her years in Carlisle she learned what it meant to be a dynamic teacher and how important it is to be treated as a professional. She referred to the Carlisle School system as unique and exceptional and sent best wishes to faculty, parents, and students.
Susan Miller, who was a seventh-grade special education teacher before she took a leave of absence this year, requested and was granted a second year leave of absence for the 1999-2000 school year.
