Proposed school calendar for 1999-2000
The proposed school calendar for the 1999-2000 school year met with the approval of the Carlisle School Committee at their March 16 meeting. Classes will begin for students in grades 1-8 on Wednesday, September 1, 1999. Kindergarten students will have a walk-through on September 1 and begin school on September 2. There will be no school on September 3 and 6, for a four-day Labor Day weekend; classes will resume on September 7. Teachers will begin working at the end of August to prepare for the start of school.
Early release days will continue to occur once a month on Tuesdays while additional professional days are scheduled for December 1, January 28, and March 15. The usual holidays will also be observed.
The December vacation will begin on Thursday, December 23. Classes will resume on January 3. Winter vacation will be the week of February 21. Spring vacation will be the week of April 17. The last day of school will be June 16 if there are no snow days, and June 23 if there are five snow days.
