Carlisle Finance Director resigns
Kerry Colburn-Dion, Carlisle’s Finance Director, Treasurer and Tax Collector, has resigned to take a position in Wilmington, where she will serve as Assistant Town Manager and Human Resources Director. On December 11 she said that she planned to leave by the end of the month, but the final day had not yet been set. She noted that tax bills would be completed and sent out before she leaves, and she will remain available to answer any questions that come up. A search committee will be formed to help find a successor, said Town Administrator Tim Goddard.
Colburn-Dion has worked in Carlisle for about two and a half years. She was hired in June of 2016 to fill the vacancy created when former Finance Director Larry Barton retired. Before taking the post in Carlisle, Colburn-Dion served for seven years as Finance Coordinator, Treasurer and Tax Collector in Tyngsborough, the town in which she lived. Speaking with the Selectmen shortly before she was hired, Colburn-Dion said that Carlisle reminded her of what Tyngsboro was like when she was growing up. She said, “Small towns give you the opportunity to get to know people and help them.”
Board of Selectman Chair Nathan Brown praised her knowledge and hard work. Goddard said, “Kerry is one of the most diligent finance officials I have had the pleasure of working with in my career.” He added, “She will be missed greatly by the Town of Carlisle.” ∆
