Carlisle School hires new nurse
A new school nurse has been hired to replace retiring Carlisle School nurse Kathy Horan. At their June 13 meeting, Carlisle School Committee (CSC) members voted to approve Lauren Sawyer as school nurse.
Asked who was involved in the interview process, Superintendent Jim O’Shea said that school nurse Lori Desjardin served on the search committee as well as administrators, parents and teachers. O’Shea said that Sawyer, who lives in Townsend, has served in her current position as a school nurse for seven years and has worked in an urgent care setting and at a hospital. Second Grade teacher Linda Vanaria, who was present for interviews, said that she “felt a sense of calm” from Sawyer. ∆
